It seems more and more video game companies are pushing for the digital downloads and while I can see how they are convenient I think I will always prefer discs and cartridges. I just like the idea of actually owning the game I purchased. This way if something happens to my system I don't have to worry about if the number of uses has been used up or if I will have enough space on my console for them. I also want the physical copy so I can share it. For example if my boyfriend has a game loaded on his 3DS or Vita I can't download it onto mine unless we both use the same account which we don't have and with handhelds you can't load two accounts one.
This is not to say I never buy a digital game. If it's a past generation game I can't get my hands on or I don't have the system to play it on I'm all for downloading the game. I think it's a great invention for these types of things. However again if I already own the game and they decided not to make their system backwards compatible then I have to buy the game all over again if I want the convenience of one system.
So pros and cons to both, but which do you prefer?

I honestly enjoy physical copies more because I enjoy owning a collection. I am building my video game collection as well as my manga, anime, and figure collection. One day I hope to have a rad otaku room, but if companies go purely digital I'll be out of luck in the video game collecting spectrum! Good topic, btw.

I do both. Whichever is more convenient really. But nothing beats having that case or cartridge on display, or in your hands. Plus special editions are mostly physical!

That's a very good point about the special editions.

Definitely physical copies over digital. I'd just rather have the disk in my hand than worry about losing my account or something.
