Wow that's a bit difficult for me to choose just one. I love figures because it's like the character has come to life in my home. They are a great way to decorate the place and bring a smile to my face. Also hunting them down and catching pre-orders is fun too.
But having an anime DVD or Blu-ray is also very nice. Right now we don't have internet at our apartment so not crunchyroll or netflix, yet we can still watch things. Plus they are great to have for convenience for watching any time.
Games are also great due to the fact that you can place yourself inside that world.
So tough call for me.

It definitely has to be figures. Figures take that small bit of care and will last for a very long time if you just care for them like any other hobby. The anticipation and finally opening a new (at least new to you) figure, it's like opening a present that you know is just going to kick all kinds of arse. Displaying them and making them a focal point of an otaku room. There's also the variety, photography and kits associated with them. And the hunt for that figure that came out and passed you the first time. Even though Anime/Manga are available online, physically holding that manga or popping in a DVD is also sweet and makes some very nice displays, especially complete manga collections. I didn't even mention the clothing, wallscrolls/prints/, keychains, etc.

Has to be Dvd's/Blu rays. To have a collection of your favorite shows is fantastic. Not to mention when they do crazy box art tht creates other images when completed like the dragon ball and dragon ball z dvds is a bonus. True you can watch them online, but with dvds/bluray you can always have them instantly regardless of internet amazing subs and better quality. Also on legal websites they take down some of the anime shows u enjoyed and may want to return to. Plus some shows will be forgotten on the internet and hard to find in the future. That digital copy will prevent tht problem. Not to mention the option of subs and dubs for almost all shows u get.
