Since I started my collection as an adult, it's been amazing! It bring me alot of happiness and joy. And there is nothing more awesome than opening a new figure, it's an awesome hobby! But the bad thing... is I have a sort of additive personality. So I feel like I sometimes go go overboard (which is the main reason my fiance hates my hobby in a sense) I sometimes let these kind of things take over my life. I feel like it's reached that point ( like with yugioh cards, where I was spending hundreds and hundreds on them) I let myself get behind on bills and ask my fiance to bail me out of overdraft fees. I scaled back alot from before, I used to get 400-500 $ monthly worth of figures. I stopped that, and am on the road to recovery. I love collecting but I have to learn to moderate lol I can't be gluttonous! Do any of you have similar problems or problems brought about by toy collecting?

I feel you. I have a feeling I will need to scale back quite a bit soon. Right now I'm ok with finances, but my biggest worry is that I won't have enough space to properly display them. I would hate to spend all this money and not have room for them. Feels kind of like a waste. And with getting more bills I feel like I will need to hold back as I won't have the funds soon to shop like I have been.

I'm just glad my room isn't too big so this is my kryptonite to holding me back from spending butt loads of money per month.

I think part of my problem is that I don't know exactly how much space I have when I move and I'm thinking I'm sure I can get it to fit somewhere. When I have things actually set up it might hit me how little space I'm probably going to have. Especially without a display case.

I feel a little addicted sometimes. I've been trying to sell my older figures so I can justify getting new ones I found that sometimes I would want to buy on impulse the second an item came out, but I've stopped doing that now and that helped a lot. If I sit back a day or two I can really decide if I want the figure or if I can get it pre-owned later.

With some figures you do have to jump on them right away or they are gone. Take the Madoka figures from GSC. Glad to see there were rereleases on some. Sometimes I think that I will want to sell a figure now and then, but I also don't keep all the boxes nor do I want to for space issues and then wonder how I will sell one without the box.

It's even harder when you collect other things like I do >< I have to prioritize my spending. I most likely won't be buying any figures for the remainder of this year. A Homura cupoche was teased though and I spring for anything of her without a second thought lol.

I kinda collect other things too. More like just video games and anime. Not really collecting per say, but I do like to buy them. With the PS4 coming out I know I can't get it for launch, but I may have to start curbing my figure spending for a bit so I can get it next year.

I have a fear that if I don't buy figures when I can, the oppritunity won't show itself for a long time with an added price tag. But I can't buy every figure I want since I don't have 2000 dollars that I can just drop on figures. Not to mention the other goodies I have to buy. What am I going to do when I'm on my own with all this cool shit to buy?

I don't think I could do it on my own. Luckily though I have someone to share all of the finances with lol
